JUDE HARZER FINE ART

When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait. Life does not look back. A week is more than enough time for us to decide whether or not to accept our destiny.”~ Paul Coelho

A young and vital child knows no limit to his own will, and it is the only reality to him. It is not that he wants at the outset to fight other wills, but that they simply do not exist for him. Like the artist, he goes forth to the work of creation, gloriously alone.

Follow Up:
I am very honored to have received the award for "First Place: Excellence in Painting". It was actually for a previously painted work, finished over three years ago entitled: "Fly: Catcher of Dreams." This composition was one of my first completed works after not having painted for nearly 20 years. It masks many failed efforts beneath the highly textured surface and was nearly abandoned and scrapped. The pleasure and learning really are in the process. The true "value" of the art, was in the experience and creation of it. Thank you again to the assistant curator from the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum of Rutgers University and to the co-curators and judges of the Guild of Creative Art in Shrewsbury, NJ for recognizing my efforts.
